Frequently Asked Questions
Transcription Translation Services Canada (TTSC for short) has 3 different service speeds for its transcription services. The cost for these 3 levels of service are determined per minute of recorded audio and/or video: Urgent for $3.00, Important for $2.00, and Easy Going for $1.65. There is no additional charge for multiple speakers, up to 4, but there is sales tax. We round up all audio to the nearest whole minute.
We strive to make our customers’ lives easier. It is sometimes difficult for you to judge the quality of a recording.
Don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of it all for the same price.
We would love to, but volume isn’t the important factor. Please let us know what you have in mind. That being said, continuing to work with TTSC and referring people to our services can bring you discounts on future orders!
Client confidentiality is very important to us! That goes for our clients’ information as well as their interviewees, colleagues, and others involved in their projects.
Some clients require additional documentation via a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We are happy to sign your NDA, or we can supply one for you.

TTSC has 3 service speeds for a reason. You get your transcriptions back on the timeline that suits your schedule and your wallet best. Just like the prices above our service speeds are as follows:
Urgent transcription service: 1-2 business days – (depending on the length of the recording)
Important transcription service: 5 business days
Easy Going transcription service: 10 business days
Why do we break things down this way?
Transcribing anything, at first, takes anywhere from 4 to 5 times as long as the recording. That means that transcribing audio that is 1 minute long, can take anywhere from 4 to 5 minutes to the uninitiated. Luckily, the TTSC team is more efficient than that! We have gotten our transcription services down to a ratio of 1:2.5-3. Longer recordings or recordings with poor audio quality (interruptions, background noises, low volume), generally take longer.
We found that as we grow our capacity, we are able to reduce our turn around times, but seeing as we hire mainly students to do our transcriptions, we want them to be able to concentrate on their studies more than their work. Our timelines provide both our clients and our transcribers with the satisfaction and peace of mind they require.

Do you provide timestamps?
Yes, we offer thirty-second interval timestamps as an option so that you can find the parts of the recordings with ease. This takes time, however, and comes aran additional charge of $0.20 per minute.
We can also provide you with time stamps every time the speakers switch for $0.25 per minute. Simply tell us what you need!
Get timestamps along with a verbatim transcription and SAVE! $0.40 additional instead of $0.50 per minute.
The TTSC transcribers come from a variety of backgrounds. From Social Sciences to Nursing and everything in between. You can specify the topic when you place your order so our transcribers with experience in that field can work on your recordings. Please note that we are not court-certified.
Yes, we can transcribe multi-speaker files all the time. We charge the same prices as mentioned above. We indicate “Interviewer”, “Interviewee”, etc. where possible, or whatever our clients specify.
